Blood Mountain is an independent cross-disciplinary research and curatorial-organisation, exploring the cultural past present and potential of Central Europe. Passionate about artistic research, it champions the production and communication of critical new cultural content, comprising new commissions, exhibition-making, artists-in-residence, research-based curatorial endeavours, public events and publications. The organisation thrives on transnational and interdisciplinary partnerships, fosters open dialogue with professional peers and welcomes the public’s engagement worldwide. Its longevity and independence as an agile, non-profit cultural think tank is enabled by an international board of trustees and like-minded funders. It was founded in 2010 by Jade Niklai, a Hungarian-born art historian and Tom Sloan, an Australian born-and-trained cross-disciplinary designer. It is creatively led by Jade and since 2015 based in Vienna, Austria.
