Heidemarie Uhl
Historian
Heidemarie Uhl (Dr. Phil.) is Senior Researcher at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna and Professor at the University of Vienna and the University of Graz. She holds a PhD in Contemporary History (University of Graz). She was a guest professor at Strasbourg University, Hebrew University Jerusalem, Strasbourg University, AUB Andrassy University Budapest and Stanford University. Uhl is a member of the Austrian Delegation to the IHRA Inter national Holocaust Remembrance Alliance and member of the scientific board of House of Histroy Austria (vice chairperson), the Military History Remembrance Commission at the Austrian Ministry of Defence (vice chairperson) and Commission of the Brandenburg Memorial Foundation. She is member of the editorial board of Zeitgeschichte and Contemporary Austrian Studies. She is currently directing the project, “Reconceptualisation of the Austrian Hero’s Monument”.
