Lacuna is a London-based creative projects studio, specialising in ambitious public realm projects, including permanent and temporary art commissions, outdoor exhibitions, festivals and events. It is led by founding director, Stella Ioannou and works with a core team of project associates, including curator, Jade Niklai. The team’s expertises include artistic programming, curation, creative and strategic project management, developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships, fundraising, and managing project teams.

Lacuna’s work positively reflects the private sector’s engagement with public spaces and people. This is best illustrated by the success of Sculpture in the City (2010-), central London’s award-winning annual urban sculpture park, realised through the City of London Corporation’s public realm strategy and delivered in partnership with the city’s arts community and local businesses. Between 2010 to 2022 SiTC showcased 141 artworks by 121 artists from 30 countries, produced by renown international artists and the best of emerging talent. In 2018 SiTC reached gender equality as part of the Corporation’s Women Work Power initiative. Each summer this outdoor exhibition is accompanied by a weekend festival called Nocturnal Creatures (curated with Whitechapel Gallery), an education programme for local primary and secondary students (organised with Urban Learners) and SITC x Musicity, a series of newly commissioned musical compositions, inspired by the architecture and art of Sculpture in the City. lacuna-projects.comsculptureinthecity.org.uk
