“The Melbourne exhibition, The Playground Project – curated by Swiss urban planner Gabriela Burkhalter – also includes a version of Italian artist, Yvan Pestalozzi’s vivid, twisting tubular “Lozziwurm” (1972). Children will be able to climb through or refuse to come out of Pestalozzi’s sculpture after the exhibition is finished as it is staying as a permanent installation”.

The article also positions The Brutalist Playground by Simon Terrill and Assemble, first commissioned by RIBA and featured in The Playground Project Melbourne at Incinerator Gallery, in dialogue with 2025 London summer highlights, including Harold Offeh‘s new slide in the Carmody Groarke-designed ArtPlay Pavilion at Dulwich Picture Gallery, Sir Peter Cook’s recent Play Pavilion at Serpentine, and past groundbreaking playgrounds by Isamu Noguchi, Pierre Székely and Kengo Kuma & Associates.
