Marc Chagall is the quintessential 20th Century European artist. Born into an orthodox Russian Jewish Family, Chagall found his way to Paris and became an Avante Garde artist with a romantic, humanist and deeply spiritual style all his own. Unusually, he ended up designing works for Christian churches. CHAGALL at the Jewish Museum of Australia looks at Chagall’s printmaking, poetry and public art commissions through a Jewish lens. Rosa speaks with curator Jade Niklai.
