Long Distance Press

Long Distance Press (LDP) is an artist-led publishing house, artist project, zine factory, exhibition space and image-making platform. It was founded by visual artists, Adam Shield and Thomas Whittle in 2013 as a way to solidify their collaborations between Glasgow, Newcastle, London and Edinburgh. LDP started as a postal art project that turned into a collaborative artistic practice, comprising publications and exhibitions. LDF supports the research, production and dissemination of paper-based artworks, which often live at the unseen edges of an artist’s practice.

LDP also supports other artists to produce paper-based artworks, artist books and limited editions. By offering a space for exploration and collaboration, LDP produces cultural content that sits between published book and small press artist edition. LDP employs many creative production processes, paper stock and binding methods to realise printed ephemera that is intentionally lo-fi and tactile.
