Stella Ioannou
Stella Ioannou is founding and managing director of Lacuna, a creative projects agency based in London, and responsible for the city’s largest outdoor annual public art exhibition called Sculpture in the City (2010–). She is a trained architect and dancer, a liveryman member of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects and a member of the City Architecture Forum. Stella’s expertise and relationship with the City of London was recognised by her appointment as the Culture Mile Public Realm Curator (2019–2020). Prior to Lacuna, Stella was client director for the international events agency, Profirst (2007–2009), where she oversaw unique cultural events for luxury brands including Armani, Chanel, Credit Suisse and Swarovski.
Stella collaborated with Jade Niklai for the first time in 2006 during the London Architecture Biennale (now known as London Festival of Architecture), where Stella worked as deputy founding director (2003–2007) and Jade was a contributing curator on behalf of The Architecture Foundation. Following several strategic partnerships and content collaborations over the next decade, in 2020 Stella and Jade were appointed on behalf of Lacuna to curate the Public Art Programme for Paddington Square, an ambitious new urban development led by Sellar/Great Western Developments and designed by RPBW. lacuna-projects.com
