A series of London firsts as Paddington Square announces major public arts programme.
London, 21 October 2021 – Paddington Square, London’s new quarter for work, retail and dining at the heart of Paddington’s regeneration, today announced a major programme of public art commissions, comprising first London permanent public works by internationally renowned artists Ugo Rondinone, Pae White and Catherine Yass. The artworks will be unveiled with the full opening of Paddington Square next year.
The programme also presents a community-engagement project, realised in partnership with The Showroom and showcasing new works by Kathrin Böhm, Rhea Dillon and Long Distance Press (Adam Shield and Thomas Whittle).
Paddington Square is designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop and developed by Sellar.
The pubic art programme is curated by Stella Ioannou, director and Jade Niklai, associate curator, Lacuna.
